Leave a Legacy Stark County was formed in 2001 as a sub-chapter of the Northern Ohio Charitable Gift Planners association. Since then, nonprofit organizations have relied on Leave a Legacy to promote planned giving to the public and educate those working in the nonprofit field on the various vehicles available to donors for the purpose planned giving. While the education provided cannot replace the advice of your donor’s financial advisor (nor should it), it’s significantly helpful to understand those vehicles and be able to speak in a general sense to their benefits.
Leave a Legacy Stark County hosts “Lunch and Learn” meetings 5-6 times per year, during the lunch hour. During that time, members hear from experts in the fields of planned giving or development, and have the opportunity to network with others in the field.
Leave a Legacy also partners with Sisters of Charity in Canton, Ohio to bring Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy to Stark County to provide high-level education to local nonprofit personnel and their board members. Several of our local development directors have earned the Certificate in Fundraising Management (CFRM), a professional mark of excellence in the philanthropic field.
Membership in Leave a Legacy Stark County is affordable at only $125 per year, and provides big savings on the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
